An Invitation To Pray

I recently returned from Israel—what an incredible experience! I pray you get to visit the Holy Land at least once in your life. It will transform how you read the Bible, connecting the dots as you walk where Jesus walked and see where He will return.

This was our second trip, and we discovered so much more. For believers, it’s a life-changing pilgrimage.

Israel is currently at war, a conflict that began on October 7, 2023. As the nations rage, we continue to pray and declare peace over them, trusting God to intervene.

In Jerusalem, we prayed from the walls of the old city where the watchmen once stood. As I prayed and reflected, I felt a strong reminder from the Lord about the urgency of prayer in this hour. Israel is a nation that prays, and I believe that because of the prayers in that nation and from nations like ours, we will see a move of God in Israel and the world.

Now is not the time to pull back, but to press into what God is doing and saying through His Word. For example, Ezekiel 33:7 says, “Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the people … when you hear me speak a warning, give them my warning.”

Though Ezekiel 33 is a heavy chapter, it underscores the power of prayer and God’s sovereignty over nations. I am not declaring or prophesying calamity, but extending the invitation and calling from God to pray. Every believer is called to pray. God is raising watchmen in this hour for His kingdom purposes. I feel that many have convinced themselves that their prayers aren’t powerful. But I want to encourage you today that with God, all things are possible to those who believe and pray (see Matthew 19:26).

We are in times that demand more from the believer, but will also result in a greater manifestation of glory over the earth. With this in mind, here are some key insights I believe the Lord revealed to me through Ezekiel 33. 

1. Increased Visitations Through Prayer: I felt the Lord say that many will experience increased power during their times of prayer. Many believe Ezekiel experienced a trance-like encounter with God. As he prayed, the fear of the Lord gripped him, reminding him—and us—of the power of prayer and the manifest glory that often comes through prayer. We are all called to be watchmen, to stand and pray. It’s not just for intercessors, but for everyone willing to act. We can pray for experiences with God and blessings in our lives, but we are also called to stand guard in our faith over our cities and nations. Remember Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” The enemy may have an agenda, but God has a plan, and His plan will always outweigh the enemy’s attempts. We are a part of God’s plan on the earth!
2. There is no Move of God Without Prayer: Ezekiel 33:10-11 reveals God’s heart: “I take no delight in the death of the wicked, but I delight in seeing them turn from their ways so they can live.” What a powerful portion of scripture filled with the mercy and love of God for us. Even now, with so much being exposed within the Body of Christ, we have the opportunity to repent, pray, and see righteousness sweep over our nation and the church. Let’s believe God for an incredible outpouring in our day. James 4:8 says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” This is an invitation, not a rebuke. An opportunity to know the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.
3. Responding to God’s Warnings: James 1:22 says, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only.” We have a saying here in the ministry, “The kingdom of God is voice-activated” and “requires our participation.” We have a rare and powerful opportunity to see a move of God that will be spoken of for generations if we respond to His warnings. Do you remember 2 Chronicles 7:14? It says, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sin and I will heal their land.” In Ezekiel 33, God is looking for the people to respond. Will you pray and respond to the voice of the Lord in this hour? I believe you will.

If you had a choice, what story would you want the next generations to hear about our generation? Would you want them to hear that we were a generation that did not respond to the Word and ways of the Lord? Or, maybe you are like me, and the story you want your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to know is that our generation was the generation that believed the Lord, responded to His voice and Word, and saw even more extraordinary outpourings than those in the Bible! Let us be known as a Greater Works, Moves, and Love Generation.

God, I thank You for Your Word, which never returns void. Provoke me to pray for my nation according to Your will. Make me a watchman who helps declare and usher in a move of God for this generation and those to come. I believe in You and know You will move in my generation as we lean into You. Thank You, Lord.
