Important Prophetic Insights for this Year
Rosh Hashanah, or Jewish New Year, is called the Feast of Trumpets in the Bible (Lev. 23:23-25 and Numbers 29:1-6) because it begins the Jewish High Holy Days and Ten Days of Repentance (or Days of Awe) with the blowing of the ram’s horn, the shofar, calling God’s people together to repent from their sins. The Feast of Trumpets is one of the seven major biblical feasts outlined in the Word.
Rosh Hashanah is also the start of the civil year in Israel. It is a solemn time of soul-searching, forgiveness, repentance and remembering God’s judgment, as well as a joyful day of celebration, looking forward to God’s goodness and mercy in the New Year.
As believers who love Christ, we joyfully celebrate daily and perpetually on what Christ has accomplished for us – He atoned for us and made us holy before God. He redeemed us through His precious blood. He granted to us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places and everything that pertains to life and godliness. Although we are not “legally obligated” to observe the feasts, we freely celebrate them because they remind us of His goodness and they reposition us, bringing us into focus.
PREPARATION FOR THE NEW YEAR
Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets has been a special holiday for our ministry for many years. We have discovered that as we position ourselves before God at the head of the year, our lives come into a renewed blessing. Usually at least one month ahead of Rosh Hashanah, we begin to prepare by seeking His face:
- To invite Him to convict us of any unconfessed sin so that we might freshly align with His Word, ways, and nature.
- To meditate on the Christ-like nature He has given us through our salvation.
- To receive prophetic insights for the new year and give birth to them through intercession.
YEAR 5780 – The Year of The Mouth
The Hebrew calendar is based on the years from creation while the Gregorian calendar is based on years from Christ. This year in the Hebrew Calendar is 5780 – it is a new decade as well as a new year.
This last decade 5770-5779 (from 2010 to 2019) has been all about “seeing.” The Hebrew letter “Ayin” is a picture symbol of an eye and characterized modernly in the number 70.
This coming decade (5780-5789) is about the “speaking.” “Pey” is the Hebrew letter for the number 80, a picture symbol of a mouth.
God is looking for those who will open their mouths and proclaim His Word with true conviction.
Year 5780 is:
- A YEAR OF DECREES
Job 22:28
Decree a thing and it will be established, and light will shine on all your ways.God desires His people to create with their words as they proclaim His truth into the spiritual atmosphere. Many breakthroughs will come for Kingdom advancement and establishment in your life through DECREES in this coming year. - A YEAR OF SUBDUING YOUR ENEMIES THROUGH HIS WORD
Isaiah 11:4 NASB
But with righteousness He will judge the poor, and decide with fairness for the afflicted of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked.The enemy is freshly targeting believers. Jesus said he would (“The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy…” John 10:10a). Decrees will demolish his tactics, assaults, and intentions in your life.
- A YEAR OF RELEASING NEW LEVELS OF PROPHETIC UTTERANCE, DISCERNMENT AND INTERPRETATION.
