God is fighting your battles! This month, as we step into the new Hebrew calendar year 5787, I heard the Lord say that He is fighting on your behalf, and you will step into victory!
As many of you know, the traditional Hebrew language has no specific digits to represent numbers. Instead, letters also serve as numbers while expressing pictures and deeper spiritual meanings. With that in mind, we can learn a lot prophetically by breaking down each new year into the corresponding letters and the pictorial expressions they represent. For example, this year we are stepping into the year 80 (Hebrew letter Peh) + 7 (Hebrew letter Zayin). Many years ago I took Hebrew classes, where we learned that 80 represents the mouth (including breath and speech), and 7 represents a sword/scepter, crown, or plow (also symbolizing rest and perfection). That said, as we step into year 5787, I believe we can expect God to breathe life and speak to usher in all that Zayin (seven) represents…
Rest – God is bringing us into deeper levels of rest. I believe this is a month to truly, “Cease striving and know that He is God” (Psalm 46:10). When circumstances feel out of control, it can be tempting to try to bring things immediately back into alignment, and if we are not careful, we may fall into striving where we seek to do it in our own strength, timing, and ways. This month, I invite you to release your control and let God be God. Lean into Him and rest, knowing that He is in control (Matthew 8:23-27). Sometimes He calms the storm, and sometimes He takes you through it. But know this, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14).
Perfection – God is perfect in all He does (Psalm 18:30; Psalm 145:17; Deuteronomy 32:4; Matthew 5:48), and He is constantly working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Isn’t that a relief! He is the beginning and the end, and He is the author and perfector of our faith (Hebrews 12:2; Revelation 1:8). So, why then do we worry, stress, burden ourselves with anything but trust in His ways? His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and thank God for that! Release your burdens and trust in His perfect ways (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Sword – Let Him fight for you and on your behalf to bring His timing and victory into your present and future. There are times He invites us to actively “fight” and contend for what He has promised, and there are other times He simply wills us to let Him fight on our behalf. I believe this is a month and season to fully surrender and trust Him to fight your battle. He is Jehovah El Gibbor (The Lord Mighty in Battle)! Let’s let our posture be a song and praise of victory, like David singing, “Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle” (Psalm 24:8).
Crown / Scepter – God’s authority is supreme. Let us never forget that He has already said, “It is finished” (John 19:30), and He sits on the throne (Hebrews 4:16). He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (1 Timothy 6:15; Deuteronomy 10:17; Revelation 19:11-16; Revelation 17:14)! “What then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
Plow – This month, believe that seeds sown will germinate and bear an abundance in fruit. As the ground is plowed and tilled, there will be a new harvest in great provision for finances, salvations, relationships, health, and so much more. Press in to sow and to reap in this season (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Galatians 6:7-8; Psalm 126:5-6).
In addition, the Strong’s Concordance #5787 means the Hebrew word “ivver”, referring to lack of insight or blindness.
Many of you have felt like you are in a season of transition and may even feel spiritually “blind” to what the Lord is doing. In that place, the enemy has perhaps brought doubt, worry, fear, anxiety, or chaos, but God is reminding you that this year (and especially this month) He is Yahweh Sabaoth (The Lord of Heaven’s Armies / The Lord of Hosts) – the same God of power that Hannah prayed to in faith to conceive (1 Samuel 1:11) and David called upon in His battle with Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45). Regardless of what you see (or don’t see), remember that . . .
He is your defender.

This month, and this year, pray and decree these things over yourself, your family, your relationships, your ministry, your work, and all of your circumstances—believe that you will see God’s hand of victory!
