“The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety…”
– Deuteronomy 33:12 –
The word “beloved” is one of God’s favorites. In some translations of the Bible, He uses it more than 100 times. It is how He thinks of you. You are His Beloved.
But Beloved is not only a term of endearment the Lord calls you by–it is also your job description. You are His beloved because you were made to be–loved!
If you have ever wondered why God brought you forth, what your purpose might be, or what you are called to – it is simple. You were created by Him to receive, know, and experience His love. That is why you are in the earth. That is your job description. You were created to be loved!
When you find yourself in a difficult situation and you wonder what the Lord would have you do to triumph or overcome – it is simple. He wants you to be loved, Beloved! He wants you to know and receive His love so that in all situations and circumstances, instead of being overcome with fear or doubt or confusion you will remember and experience how fully and completely He cares for you and watches over you. He wants you to be loved, Beloved. Because, as you believe that love and receive that love, you will remember that you have not been given a spirit of fear, but one of love that empowers you to refuse anxiety and cast aside doubt and confusion (2 Timothy 1:7).
He wants you to be loved, Beloved! Because His love for you contains and guarantees all of His promises to you.
The next time the devil tries to use the news of the day, or a doctor’s report, or your bank statement to create anxiety in you, don’t receive it. Instead, take a moment to remember that you are God’s Beloved. Take a moment to be loved by Him. As you receive His love, all fear will go (1 John 4:18), and your soul will once again focus on Him and His love for you. Rest in His love! And know that no matter what temporary facts might seem to say, the eternal truth is that God loves you and He is well able to perform His word in your life, Beloved.
You are the Beloved of God. You were created to be loved!
Make these simple but powerful decrees over yourself each day this month:
- I am the beloved of God.
- His perfect love casts out all fear.
- By faith, right now, I receive the fullness of His love for me. As I do, all anxiety, tension, doubt and fear fall away.
- I have not been given a spirit of fear, but one of love.
- That divine love empowers me.
- I am saved, healed, delivered, strengthened, protected and provided for in the love of God.
- This day, and every day, I am filled to overflowing with the love of God!
