Earlier this year, while I was at Angelus Temple in L.A., I had an encounter with a warrior angel. During this encounter, I was reminded that our God is a territory-taking God and that we are meant to co-labor with Him in the earth to drive the enemy from the land. All land. Everywhere. Because all of creation is His (Psalm 24:1). I was shown cities, regions, and nations that were on His heart; places that would arise and shine as darkness was driven from them. While this was going on, the Lord spoke to me and said, “What I did in the Old Testament by the power of the sword of steel in my people’s hands, I will do in this hour through the power of the Sword of the Spirit in my people’s mouths.”
The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17). In this hour He wants to teach us to wield it with all new levels of authority and impact. Just as when the disciples came to Jesus and asked Him to teach them to pray (Luke 11:1), the Lord is desiring to mentor His people in connecting with the heart of the Father and bringing heaven into the earth so that lives, regions, and even nations are forever changed.
Psalm 103:20-21 shows that when we declare the Word of the Lord, angels are released into the earth to perform it. I believe the encounter I had in L.A. was with one of these warrior angels who is waiting to be dispatched by the people of God when we declare His Word for cities, regions, nations, and even continents. God’s Word never returns void, it accomplishes all that it is sent to do (Isaiah 55:11). There are angels waiting on the word decrees, prayers, declarations, and intercession the Lord wants to place in our mouths, just like Jeremiah’s, so that demonic strongholds will be torn down and the Kingdom of God will be advanced (Jeremiah 1:9-10).
In response to this mandate of heaven, we at XP have launched a new one-week missions prayer school called Operation Prayer Strike (OPS) where we go into regions for one week, mentoring the participants in prayer and activating them into strategic intercession for the area based on the battle plans of heaven that we receive from the Lord. Mere days after our first OPS, testimonies of shifts and changes in the area began to pour in – all a confirmation of a divine new emphasis on prayer to take territory with and for the Lord. As we continue to embrace this new hour of new level intercession we will see strongholds and principalities that have dominated entire regions fall like lightning from the sky (Luke 10:18). Get ready for the suddenlies of God!
Prayer Directives
Let’s pray that:
- By His grace, God will stir a passion for prayer in His people.
- The Lord will teach us to pray, connecting our hearts with our Heavenly Father’s like never before so that we go to whole new levels of faith and fervency in our prayers and their ability to bring heaven to earth.
- We will receive the battle plans of heaven for the people and places the Lord puts on our hearts to pray and intercede for.
- God will put His words in our mouths. That every word we speak will be spirit and life. And as those words go forth they will tear down and destroy the works of darkness in the earth, and establish and advance the Kingdom.
- Jesus Christ, the Lord of Hosts, will mentor us in co-laboring with His angels to have greater impact in the earth and see regions broken open more quickly and effectively.
